6 Beauty Items to Keep at Work

Whether there’s a big work meeting after lunch or you’re scheduled to have coffee with a potential new client, there are six beauty items to keep on hand so you always look like a shinning star.

You get to the office looking hella good, but by lunch you’re feeling less than fabulous. No problem – reach into your stash of beauty products for a quick fix. You know, the stash you keep in your top desk drawer. Because – priorities.

I definitely keep a handful of travel-sized and mini beauty products at the office for those times when I’m rushing in the morning or have evening engagements to attend.

Whether there’s a big work meeting after lunch or you’re scheduled to have coffee after work with a potential new client for your side hustle business, there are six beauty items to keep on hand so you always look like a shinning star.

Moisturizer: No matter what the weather is, every season calls for hand moisturizer. Especially at work where we’re constantly washing our hands, shuffling around paper and banging on computer keys all day.

I like to keep this travel-sized hand cream in my desk drawer. Every other time I wash my hands, I used a little amount. Keeps my hands (and manicure) soft and supple all day.

Makeup Removing Wipes: Gentle fragrance-free wipes are great to keep at your desk. If you’re office is like mines, it can sometimes get a little humid.

At the end of the day or before heading to the gym after work – just wipe your face! You’ll feel completely refreshed. I use these makeup removing wipes.

Pressed Powder: Keeping a weightless blotting/pressed powder at your desk is the easiest way to touch up your makeup.

M.A.C offers a great pressed powder that’s perfect for frequent touch-ups whether it’s after lunch or right before a big meeting. It provides shine control without adding any additional colour or texture. I use M.A.C Blot Powder/Pressed in the shade Dark.

Mascara: After a hard days work, especially on a Friday, we head out to the local pub. But before I turn my computer monitor off I layer on a few coats of the good stuff.

I keep this mini-sized version of Marc Jacobs Beauty O!Mega Lash Volumizing Mascara at my desk. I love big lashes so this is a must-have at the office.

Red Lipstick: Last week at work, our international agency came into town for the annual planning session. After a day of meetings, we headed out to dinner. I’m so glad I had a tube of my favourite deep red lipstick on hand.

I love glamming up a little for after-work drinks or dinner and nothing is more glam that M.A.C’s iconic classic red lipstick, Ruby Woo.  A highly pigmented, matte lipstick, this colour always makes me feel like a boss.

I usually go bare during the day while at work, but Ruby Woo is a staple in my office beauty stash. It’s perfect for after work occasions.

Bronzer: For days when I get in the office and I realize that I missed my corrector/concealer, I’m thankful I’ve got Nars Illuminator in Orgasm at my desk.

It does for my skin what concealer does for my eyes — glides on silky smooth to refresh and enhance my complexion for an all day goddess look.

Hey Althea! It may not be a beauty product but I keep sunscreen at all times. Esp since I live in Texas.

    • Yes! That’s a good one to stash away. I use Clinique SPF in the morning, but I should keep a travel size in my top drawer. Thanks for the reminder.

  • Tyra Skinner

I normally keep lipstick, eyeliner, powder foundation, and mascara in case I need to go out!
Thanks for sharing these travel size makeup products!

    • @tyra_skinner:disqus sounds similar to my stash. I don’t wear eyeliner though. My skin is so oily that the few times I have attempted to wear eyeliner, it smudges right off about two hours in. Let me know if you have any recommendations for how to keep eyeliner on throughout the day.

I always kept moisturizer, pressed powder and lipstick in my drawer. I never thought of the makeup remover wipes, but those would definitely come in handy. Thanks for sharing.

    • @disqus_cEoZlsRP1N:disqus yes, then we’re just about on the same page then!! My skin is so super oily, that I have to have facial wipes. I dab it a little around my t-zone area before using pressed powder to make my skin look matte again. Thanks for leaving a comment!
