Podcast Episode 15: How to Sustain Your Momentum

In episode 15 of the See Girl Work podcast series, I share my four tips on How to Sustain Your Momentum.

My strategy includes: writing down my goals, dividing them into long-term and short-term, being able to pull the trigger and removing my fears.

1. Write Down Your Goals

Goal setting is a powerful process for thinking about your ideal future and for motivating yourself to turn your vision of this future into reality.

Set sharp, clearly defined long-term and short-term goals that you can measure and take pride in once you’ve reached them.

2. Divide Your Goals into Long-Term Goals and Short-Term Bite-Sized Chunks

While long term goals are big picture, short term goals serve as stepping stones to that larger, long-term dream.

Short term goals help you think about what you can do right away so you can manage your time. Short term goals might seem small, but completing them can

Short term goals might seem small, but completing them can lead to long-term term accomplishments in your business.

3. Pull the Trigger and Take Action

Making decisions and being able to pull the trigger is one of the benefits of being your own boss. But sometimes — this exact same freedom, is what can leave us in paralyzes.

But take it from me, stop seeking perfection — waiting for perfection is our way of continuing to stall.

Any time you convince yourself that you need to wait for something or someone else in order to proceed with your goals and actions — that’s you just stalling. That’s the fear and sometimes laziness taking control.

Trust your intuition and if you make a mistake — you’re the boss, fix it! The important thing is that we move forward in order to sustain our momentum.

4. Remove Your Fears

If you are going to be successful in creating the life of your dreams, you have to believe that you are capable of making it happen.

This was a huge obstacle for me to get over. I just couldn’t get over the fear of failure and also the fear of what other people were thinking of me as a freelancer marketer.

But at some point, we have to get over it and push past our fears. Not removing our fears can inhibit our ability to sustain our momentum.

The Take Away

These tips really help me to sustain my momentum — particularly in my freelance marketing business and I hope they help you too.
