See Girl Work led a full nonprofit website redesign for Mooredale Community Centre including custom WordPress theme and multi-program filtering.
Mooredale Community Centre has been serving families in Toronto’s Rosedale–Moore Park neighbourhood for generations. As one of the city’s longstanding community institutions, Mooredale offers 50–60 seasonal programs ranging from sports leagues and day camps to preschool programs and swimming lessons.
However, their website had become a barrier rather than a bridge to their community. Years of accumulated technical debt, legacy systems, and a complex backend made it difficult for staff to manage programs and frustrating for families trying to find and register for activities.
After reviewing the existing staging site and backend, it became clear that attempting to untangle and repurpose the current build would require more time and resources than rebuilding it properly from the ground up.
The organization needed a stable backend that staff could manage without technical expertise, an improved user experience for families browsing and registering for programs, a system to organize and filter 50–60 seasonal programs by age, type, and category, integration with external registration platforms (CampBrain and PowerUp), and a visual identity that reflected the warmth and energy of the community they serve.
