See Girl Work led a nonprofit website design project for Sorauren Park including a custom WordPress rebuild and community events calendar.
When Friends of Sorauren Park (FOSP) reached out, they were ready to evolve from a long-standing community blog into a modern, connected digital platform that reflected the heart of the park.
For years, Sorauren Park’s online presence lived across two separate WordPress.com sites: one for the park and another for the Wabash Community Centre. It had served its purpose but had become outdated and difficult to manage. The digital experience no longer reflected the energy, diversity, and warmth of the park’s real-life community.
As a volunteer-led organization, FOSP needed a creative partner who could bridge both worlds: the technical expertise to build a robust, accessible website and the storytelling sensibility to capture a neighbourhood’s spirit. They wanted a site that made it easy for visitors to find what they need, from events and permits to volunteer opportunities, and a backend that was simple for board members and volunteers to maintain. Most of all, they wanted a digital space that felt vibrant and true to the community it serves.
