The African and Caribbean Council on HIV/AIDS in Ontario (ACCHO) is a provincial organization that provides strategic leadership in response to HIV/AIDS in Ontario’s African, Caribbean, and Black (ACB) communities. ACCHO works collaboratively with government partners, healthcare providers, and community-based organizations to advance health equity through education, advocacy, research, and culturally grounded programming.
At the heart of ACCHO’s mission is a commitment to centering Black communities in the design of health solutions — ensuring that every strategy, message, and initiative reflects lived experience and community-defined priorities.
Through its Capacity Building Program, ACCHO supports a network of Strategy Workers across Ontario who are responsible for implementing the ACB HIV Strategy within their local contexts.
To strengthen this critical network, ACCHO approached See Girl Work to create a comprehensive onboarding guide that would orient new Strategy Workers to their roles, deepen their understanding of ACCHO’s mission, and serve as a long-term resource for day-to-day tasks.
The guide needed to be practical, visually engaging, and aligned with ACCHO’s brand identity — all while maintaining accessibility and readability for a diverse professional audience.
