5 Ways to Incorporate Video into Your Marketing

Using videos as part of your marketing can add a new visual element to your social media, email, or other digital campaigns. Incorporating video marketing for your small business can provide a powerful way to connect with your audience on an emotional level.

Creating content in the form of video is one of my favourite things to do. Incorporating video in your marketing increases engagement, triggers social sharing and gives people a reason to talk about your business on and offline.

In fact, 51.9% of marketing professionals worldwide name video as the type of content with the best ROI (source).

There are many ways to incorporate videos into your marketing strategy, with or without a large budget.  Small businesses would be wise to try to integrate video content into their online marketing strategy.

Creating videos is a powerful way to connect with your audience on an emotional level and increase engagement with your content.

Learn 5 ways you can incorporate video into your marketing.

1. Produce Promo Reels

Promotional videos add a new visual element to your social media, email, or other digital campaigns. You can also post the video on your site like we did. We also made a short version and pinned it to the top of our Facebook page and Twitter feed. We also posted it on our Instagram. When people find us on social media, they can view right away what we’re all about.

2. Highlight Blog Posts

A short video can easily capture the attention of your audience, draw them in, and increase consumption of readable copy. In a recent blog post, we shared a quick video recap, and received a ton of engagement on our Twitter feed. You can also share the video across your social media channels and make a shorter 60 second version for Twitter and Instagram.

3. Conduct Interviews

An interview or video podcast is a great way to draw out stories from industry thought leaders, influencers, customers or partners. The video interviews that we’ve produced get the most shares and views than other types of content that we publish. Video interviews don’t require a big budget. Just make sure you have good questions and an engaging guest.

4. Show Behind-the-Scenes

Taking your audience behind the scenes is a great way to further connect with your followers by allowing them access to information and imagery they might not have seen otherwise. This type of content creates a personal connection with viewers, making the video and your brand, more engaging.

5. Host Webinars

A webinar is a great way to engage your audience and build a strong following for your brand. The good news for webinar fans is that it’s not something that’s going to eat up up your budget. Check out Google Hangout and Skype as potential hosting platforms.

When producing videos, make sure your message is value-oriented, engaging and creates a clear call-to-action.

With video content dominating digital platforms, it’s vital for small businesses to welcome this medium to ensure your marketing strategies remain fresh and engaging.  However, when producing videos, make sure your message is value-oriented, engaging and creates a clear call-to-action.

Be sure to also identify the platform(s) that your customers use, and focus on only these. You can then create video content that is perfectly tailored to your specific audience and to the requirements of the platform.
